July 17
While walking toward the Imperial War Museum it began to rain. The boys elected to get bikes to make the trip in the rain 5 minutes instead of 15. The museum has 5 floors of History and Artifacts. The Holocaust Memorial was disturbingly awesome. The new Victoria Cross exhibition was uplifting. The numerous artifacts from human conflict were impressive to see and touch. From a design standpoint the use of type, color, and image in trying and turbulent times was fascinating as well. Upon leaving the museum they took a bike tour of St. Jameses Park, Regent Park, and Hyde Park, before returning "home" to meet the girls for dinner. Several times they had to hold up under trees as the heavens opened and it poured. Dinner was a short walk to Carluccios for yummy Italian food.
